Rich Ryffel, Market Manager-Missouri for JP Morgan Private Bank, gave us much food for thought as he outlined the myriad of ways that businesses can revitalize communities through investments of volunteer time and impactful, data-driven philanthropy; workforce development, internal and public policy advocacy, and more.

Collaborative efforts are changing the landscape of North St. Louis and bridging the Delmar divide. We learned about exciting initiatives underway by the Collective Impact Network, the Delmar DivINe, a proposed Loop to Loop Art Walk, Great Rivers Greenway, Community Builders Network, and more. We also gained "big picture" perspective from Michelle Tucker, President/CEO of United Way of Greater St. Louis, and from State Senator Brian Williams (MO 14).

Audubon Associates hosted our area's 2nd annual PitchForce event in collaboration with Regions Bank PeopleConnect Staffing at Innovation Hall in the Cortex. PitchForce is a showcase and competition among 10 St. Louis startups. This year's winner was Janna Westbrook of Provider Pool, a digital staffing platform for connecting healthcare professionals with healthcare facilities.

Audubon Associates took an in-depth look at the workforce of the past, present, and future. We heard from experts in academia and industry, and took a look at new initiatives and organizations in St. Louis that are preparing today's workers for tomorrow's jobs.

The Fourth Annual Wealth and Asset Management Research Conference will convene researchers and practitioners who share the common goal of better understanding the capital markets to create better outcomes for investors. The conference will feature research presented by leading academics and panel discussions led by industry experts in each given field of research.

St. Louis is rapidly becoming a hub for startups. What ecosystems are needed to support the new innovation economy and create a strong entrepreneurial future for our community?

More than 60 Audubon members, community leaders, and key stakeholders joined us for a close-up look at the evolving collaborative effort to revitalize the Wellston Loop. We learned about exciting progress in areas including community development, housing, increasing access to fresh and nutritious food, and financing options for new businesses.

Encouraging and supporting collaboration among nonprofits is the focus of our second major Audubon Associates project. Our May meeting presenters shared their collaboration success stories. Several new collaborations are in the works as a result of our meeting!

A four-year degree isn't the only path to a well-paying job and successful career. This meeting hosted by Ranken Technical College featured innovators who are changing the way today’s students access post-secondary learning and successful careers.

Our members received the latest updates on the XFL and MLS in St. Louis and the future of the St. Louis professional sports scene and heard from several entrepreneurial sports business
start-ups.

Audubon Associates hosted our area's first PitchForce event, a showcase and competition among 10 St. Louis startups. Our winner, Andrew Glantz, Co-Founder/CEO of GiftAMeal, was named to the St. Louis Business Journal's 2018 Class of 30 Under 30 honorees.

Community leaders representing the City of Wellston, organizations, businesses, financial institutions, and agencies came together for an afternoon of networking and learning about successful collaborations that are fueling the revitalization of Wellston and surrounding areas.

Innovation in St. Louis is occurring on many fronts. At this meeting we heard from successful St. Louis startups, non-profits, academics, and accelerators who are focused on creating economic development opportunities and addressing community needs.

This meeting featured a national expert on philanthropy, local leaders who are facilitating non-profit collaboration to maximize the impact of local charitable giving, and a new vehicle for early stage venture capital investments.

We got an early look at plans for the new 39North innovation district in St. Louis County, learned the results of a survey of the start-up landscape, and we introduced to opportunities for low income housing tax credits.

We received an early look at the Better Together as the group worked on their plan for St. Louis City and County to thrive and compete in a global economy.
